Poured from a 32oz growler that was filled at the brewery on 3/14/15 and consumed on 3/17/15, into an imperial pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains floral hops, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and citrus.
T: The taste starts out with a nice burst of floral hops that is quickly followed by mildly sweet flavors of chocolate, citrus and coffee. The malt character is hearty and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is very clean in a style where it’s very tough to find it done well.
O: Very tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, excellent representation of style, this is a very good beer to drink for a long time.

Roasty, chocolatey appearance. Nice 1 finger tan head.
Fairly subtle aroma, hop-heavy, but balanced. Bitter with a hint of citrus (grapefruit), and some roasted malts.
Flavor is much more forthcoming than the aroma, with strong notes of grapefruit, followed by chocolate and very lightly roasted malt. Not the most complex black IPA, but extremely balanced.
Solid feel, pretty full overall, and balanced. Lively with no sting.
This is a very good black IPA. I'd put Wookie Jack among the best I've ever had, and Dubhe slightly below that. Is Imperial Anomaly that good? No, it's not world-class, but it's very, very good.

32oz Growler purchased from Beer'd a few hours ago. Pours a black color with dark brown hues and a 1/2 inch of frothy tan head. Some lacing. The nose is fantastic. A big whiff of grapefruit, pine and chocolate. Hints of orange peel and caramel. The taste is a lot like the aroma. Bitter grapefruit and pine upfront followed by bitter dark chocolate. Caramel notes with a nice amount of pine bitterness towards the end. Grapefruit finish. Pretty noticeable alcohol presence. Medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation. Beer'd took one of their best beers and made it even better. Overall, one of the best Black IPAs I have had and worth seeking out. Excellent.
