This Sour India Pale Ale stands out like the party guest that no one knows. The teams at Captain Lawrence and Beer’d Brewing took the kettle sour to another level layering it with Mosaic, Azacca and Zythos hops for good measure.

16oz can. Pours a slightly cloudy brownish orange with an inch of fluffy head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is tart and fruity with some lemon, lime, sweet malts and some fruity candy. The taste is like sour citrus candy. The malts come out more towards the end. Lemon and lime finish with a hint of floral hops and citrus peel. Medium body with low carbonation. A bit dry. This is a combo that works well, both brewery-wise and the blending of the 2 styles of beer.

Collaboration with Captain Lawrence.
Canned 11/22/17.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy golden body with no lacing. Head disappears almost instantaneously. Nose of kettle souring bacteria with some fleeting characteristics from the Mosaic, Azzaca, and Zythos hops; but hardly discernible. Okay feel and overall, not my favorite sour IPA.
