DDH New England-style pale ale with lactose added - We took opulence to the next level on this pale ale. We started with a malt profile that includes heaps of flaked wheat and oats. We then plowed it full of Australian Enigma and Mosaic hops just before giving it a silky smooth finish with an addition of lactose. Drink fresh and enjoy!

16 oz can into IPA glass. Dated 12/26/18.
Look is light cloudy yellow. Smell is tropical fruit, papaya and tangerines. Taste is sweet and follows nose with citrus front end. Feel is medium and creamy. Overall another nice IPA by this brewery. Just a little sweet with the added lactose.

Got in a trade with brutalfarce. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 12/27/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, raspberry, blueberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate lactose/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, raspberry, blueberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, raspberry, blueberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate lactose/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is a fantastic milkshake NEAPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate lactose/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing Mosaic/Enigma profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice balancing lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

16oz can purchased at the brewery. Pours a turbid burnt yellow color with an inch of head. Some lacing. The aroma is berries and citrus fruits. Maybe some peach and pineapple mixed in as well. The taste is grapefruit, lime, pineapple and some mixed berries. Citrus peel finish. Moderate alcohol heat. Creamy with lots of carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Worth seeking out.
