We crafted this New England-style IPA to be smooth like Karate In The Water utilizing heaps of flaked oats and flaked wheat. We then karate kicked it full of Australian Enigma hops for a profile reminiscent of diced pineapple and fresh squeezed citrus fruits.

Strong pineapple aroma and flavor that's less sweet than expected but very tasty. The flaked oats and wheat makes for an earthier flavor and DDH make a great, dry finish. Light bodied but well carbonated, chalky and refreshing feel.

Nice head that lasted for the whole beer, smells and tastes dank...these are nearing a month so I imagine fresh the profile was sharper but all in all another solid go to beer by Beer'd, I'm a sucker for DDH and it did not disappoint

16oz. can served in a tulip. Pours a burnished orange with a hazy clarity and a tight, quarter inch, bright white head. Great nose - a big burst of mandarin orange intermingled with pineapple. Taste consistent with nose with a slight herbal/pithy quality at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body (closer to light) with a bright, lively carbonation and a mild acidity. Overall, solid and drinkable.

Beer'd has been hit-or-miss for me, but I will always hold fondly in my heart the first time I took a sip of their Nelson-focused hazy IPA, Hobbit Juice. I remember being blown away at the complex profile of that (at the time) unknown hop, and it quickly became one of my favorite varietals. Australian Enigma is another such varietal that usually can immediately sell me on a beer, because it's somewhat similar to Nelson but with a little more red berry flavor usually. Excited to get into this one!
Pours a pale orange-golden color with a long-lasting, retentive head that leaves behind consistently tiered lace. Nice legs here as well. The can says that the brewery utilized "heaps of flaked oats and flaked wheat" in the grist for this beer and I can tell they definitely didn't hold back on those two ingredients because the haze in this one is pretty solidly more well-defined as "opacity." Seriously, zero light penetration... nice looking stuff, guys!
The nose has the funky and intriguing scent of Enigma right upfront... I tend to think of this hop as a weird mid-point between Mosaic and Nelson, featuring, in this beer, notes ranging from dry/tropical white wine to stone fruit and berry elements, plus some dankness in there just for fun. It's lively and fruit-forward but also well-tempered by unusual things happening that always keep me on my toes. As such, I should probably be glad they kept this in the single IPA ABV range and double dry-hopped it, because that's typically the best way to get these bigger, crazier hops to come across in a singular/focused fashion, so they don't get all drowned out by bruising maltiness or start to get unwieldy in terms of flavor profile.
Speaking of which, the taste of this beer lives up to my expectations from the high-quality nose... there are big flavors of pineapple, ripe mango, and juicy tangerine with some secondary elements of white wine, light dankness/earthy spice (almost rye-like in the finish?), and redcurrant. Really complex stuff, and probably the best IPA I've had from Beer'd in a while. Smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel with spritzy carbonation that barely lasts into the finish, which is a bit dry and chalky but overall quite nice. Recommended!

Poured from a can dated 7/26/19. Pours a dark yellow, but still noticeably lighter than the average NE IPA. About a finger's worth of thick white head. Smell is a fresh, lemon. Very zesty. Taste also has the lemon, with an earthy finish. Lighter mouthfeel, very easy to drink. Very refreshing beer.
