Beer'd Brewing's iteration of the Aspetuck Brew Lab open-source IPA to benefit their state's brewers guild.
Appearance: Golden-hued, fairly clear with a decent-sized, whitish head.
Smell: Tropical, citrusy nose with slight herbal undertones and slight undercurrent of spent grain wheat bread.
Taste: Crustless wheat loaf with a firm graininess about it and sweetness that persists only momentarily. As with the nose, there's pithy citrus fruits, mangoes, steely-eyed gooseberry and a cutting vein of resiny herbaceousness. Moderate bitterness. The initial blip of sweetness is recucitated on the back half. A little warmth through from the alcohol. Finishes fairly dry, a skosh bitter with modest fruity elements lingering in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A bit of smoothness about it.
Overall: Not bad.
