We threw a whole red velvet cake into this brew, along with vanilla and cacao nibs. While your tastebuds are on an epic journey of red velvety flavors, you may also detect hints of chocolate coming from the malt. The addition of beets gives this beer a subtle red hue.
We added sweetened condensed milk to the boil, so lactose-sensitive humans beware!

Fairly dark brew, bordering on a purplish porter in appearance. Head production and retention are OK.
The aroma is very pleasant, definitely imparting notes of red velvet cake without being over the top. A bit of cola and caramel from the malt base.
Translates especially well to the palate. It's not an over the top dessert stout, not being overly sweet, but the cake is definitely present and noticeable.
