On-cask 10/30/2014 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in an imperial pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large dense light brown head that fades extremely slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and vanilla.
T: The taste starts out with a strong and sweet coffee flavors. Then flavors of vanilla and chocolate come in, along with a hearty roasted malt character. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is a very good porter to drink for a long time.
