A smooth porter brewed with enough coffee to make 2500 double espresso shots, finished with a touch of vanilla.

It is kind of impressive to be getting Foolproof BC distro down here in S-Central PA because I visited these guys early on in their history since they got into CANning from the jump. A former colleague was working for RIDE at the time & I would go up to visit & drink beer. I really did not foresee Foolproof getting as big as they have became. Cheers to CANtinued success!
From the CAN: "Foolproof is welcoming in this year's winter season with a new addition to our ever-popular Raincloud lineup. We’ve brewed a rich, malty porter and blended in whole vanilla beans and espresso-ground coffee to create a beautiful marriage of flavors that is the perfect remedy to a dreary day. Vanilla Espresso Raincloud was brewed in limited quantity, so grab a can while it lasts!"; ""Your Life Your Beer Experience Responsibly".
One of the things that I really dig about CO2 Porters & Stouts is that following the Crack! of the vent, even the slowest, gentlest C-Line Glug will evince a pseudo-cascade. This was no exception & once it calmed down, I was faced with two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention. I gave it some calming time in order to be able to proceed. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose reminded me of the first time that I had Espresso - we were in LaMaddalena, Sardinia & I was at the launch landing, having a cup while smoking a Guinea Stinker (a Parodi) & reading the International Times. Man, I was wired up & when a local invited me to come play Bocce, I was hooked! 2500 double-shots of Espresso?!? OMFG! This CAN send me into orbit! I was also reminded of the scene in "Young Frankenstein" as the burnt & scalded monster bursts through the blind man's door & into the night, howling in pain as the blind man calls after him, "Wait! Where are you going?!? I was going to make us each an Espresso!" It smelled yummy. Mouthfeel was big, thick & full, like a dollop had been scooped into my mouth & onto my tongue. Mmm. The taste was savory, big with notes of smoky dark/baker's chocolate & dark-roasted coffee, not terribly unlike my morning coffee. 8=O Man, this was something else! I was not really getting the vanilla in that initial burst of flavor, but it beCAN to catch up on the finish, giving the beer a rounded edge. Still, this was one intense SOB! I CAN recommend it for hardcore coffee drinkers, but it might be too intense for the uninitiated. YMMV.

16 oz can, brewed about 5 months ago, bought at the brewery
pours very dark brown but not quite jet black. thick tan head, very good head retention. aroma as it warms it dead on - rich vanilla and strong espresso roastiness. taste is more mild, but similar flavors. medium to thicker bodied, and smooth.

Black color with a small dark tan head.
Coffee aroma, vanilla, and I think a little chocolate.
Coffee-forward taste, some vanilla, and a hint of dark chocolate. The coffee really lingers.
Medium-bodied.
Good beer.
