A refreshing session amber, possessing a soft balanced malt character. A touch of roast in the finish that plays well with the subtle hop character. 30 IBUs

Remember the name and it being really good but nothing else. The last time I had this beer was about 18 months ago.

Poured into a MacAndrew's thistle glass. Pours a medium to dark reddish orange with a half finger off-white head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, raspberries, hints of stone fruit. Flavor is dry caramel malt, mixed red berries, light grassy hops and a mild tannic character to the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Hits all the bases for an Irish red, with great berry fruit notes and caramel malt with a touch of biscuit. A bit hoppier than usual for the style, but the better for it. The Irish red was one of the first new styles I tried decades ago to break away from standard lagers and this bring back good memories. Old Town did a good job on this one and I look forward to trying something els from them in the future.
