Look: Semi-clear reddish-orange with a voluptuous off-white head that settles to a pillow and holds, coating the glass with lacing – it looks awesome
Aroma: Cut grass, lemon zest, rose petals and hips, floral notes, light malt sweetness, and bready notes
Taste: A boatload of flowers and lemons kick it off – I get rose, cherry blossom, and true jasmine among others, plus a blast of freshly-cut grass. Malt enters and mixes in but this is all hops and those flavors broaden before lemon returns to the forefront to close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, a little slickness, medium-high carbonation, and a pretty soft finish with only a very mild dry note that I attribute to the fresh hops in it
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I’ve never had nor known these folks made (or at least packaged) a fresh hop beer so I had to try it and support a Portland brewery O.G. As a sucker for Centennials, this is delicious and showcases the varietal well – floral notes, lemon, grass, and rose, and is well-made to boot. If you dig Centennial hops, give this one a try
