On tap at the MLK location tonight. At first, I thought this was the Boulder beer as a guest tap, but I guess not.
Pouring amber with a dense, off-white head with decent retention and lacing, this looks ok. The nose is a blend of honey, caramel, pine and valencia oranges. Less hoppy than I was hoping for, and without as much rye character as I was expecting, this is disappointing. The palate is a blend of medium-low bitterness (citrus mostly, with some pine), a juicy orange character and a moderate sweetness. Thankfully, this isn't syrupy, but the sweetness is bothersome. The rye does make this rather slick and smooth on the palate, but the carbonation is very high, lending to a prickly feel that I don't care for. Mildly sweet and mildly hoppy on the finish, this is rather meh.
