12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, tan head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of pumpkin, nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon. Sweet pumpkin taste with pie-like spices.

From a 12oz can with no date on it.
This beer is somewhat murky looking and amber colored. There's a 2 finger white head to this beer. The head is pretty long lasting and such sticky looking lacing on the glass.
The aroma of pumpkin spice hits while pouring this beer. Up close I get a good hit of the pumpkin spices. It seems to be heavier on the nutmeg, but I also get a good cinnamon hit here as well. The spices do seem well balanced.
Taste - Well, I'm not sure about this. The flavors seemed astringent and bitter on my first sip. It does seem to get into pumpkin spices on other sips. I do get some nutmeg and cinnamon. I still get the bitterness and it doesn't seem to work with this beer.
The body is effected by the bitterness, and doesn't seem to work. The body does have some fullness.
Well, I'm not sure what's going on here. The look and aroma is awesome. The flavor is a mess. I am glad I only got one of these.

12oz black colored can. No dating information found. Label is marked 8.5% ABV.
Mostly clear, medium amber colored body. Thin off white colored head. Leaves behind a partial horizontal wave of lacing.
Aroma is sweet with allspice, nutmeg, and cloves notes.
Taste follows the nose, and drinks really sweet, and has the flavors of toasted malts, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. The added sugars really show up. Spices and malts in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, with a slight syrup texture. ABV% is well hidden. Good carbonation.
This is one sweet gourd of a brew.

2016 notes:
Dark brown color, slim brownish head.

Aroma: spices come first, all the suspects, the allspice and cinnamon and nutmeg, but not much beyond that.

In the mouth: big, rich malt. Some traces of the pumpkin flavor, and the trickles of the spice. Tasty, with looming alcohol. Pumpkin pie spices are mainly in the aromatics (I peeked at the full description, which I will leave below, no cinnamon, but clove and ginger are in here.)

I like this one, but I'm not in love with it. I'm getting the warmth of the spice and the alcohol now, and it's doing it's job as a nightcap. This'll turn me in, but good. I'm still not getting enough "pumpkin flavor", but it's not that big of a deal. It's an alright beer. Not great, ...alright.

Here are my impressions during a very loud and busy visit to the brewery taproom.

Aroma: Nutmeg and allspice are strong, but not overwhelming. A powerful malty sweetness to the aroma. Also has a hint of alcohol/spice sting on the nose.

Appearance: The color is a very deep orange with a minimal haze. A fine white head is present, that fades fairly soon after pouring.

Flavor: Very intense maltiness without being cloying sweet. Reminds me of a light colored bock or Imperial Octoberfest. Nutmeg and cinnamon in the flavor, but second fiddle to the malt and grain. Some alcohol warming, but does not detract from the beer.

Overall: A very good version of an Imperial spice beer. I'm not sure if there is actually pumpkin in it, but I suspect there is based on the haziness. It reminds me a lot of Pumpking from Southern Tier, but a bit less aromatic. This is one for sipping from a snifter in front of a fireplace.

This is an interesting Pumpkin beer. I felt that it was heavy on both the pumpkin pie flavor and the spices. It was a nice change up to the "one way or the other". I wish this was something that was bottled and able to buy. I would love to age one of these and see how it blends over time.
