On tap at the Dangerous Man taproom. 16 oz. serving in a tall glass.
Appearance: Pours a dark blackish brown with a moderate amount of bubbles. Small finger of tan head which settles into a thin creamy layer.
Smell: A roasty and sweet dark malt forward aroma with a scent of chocolate, biscuit, and toast.. Dark roasted barley malt with a scent of milk chocolate, coffee, toasted bread, biscuit, nuts, smoke,and caramel with yeast. Sweet hints of honey, vanilla, and marshmallow. Hints of wood and leather along with some earthy hops. A pretty good aroma.
Taste: Like it nose hints at,, a roasty and sweet dark malt driven taste with notes of chocolate, toast, and biscuit. Dark roasted barley malt with sweet notes of milk chocolate, coffee, biscuit, toasted bread, nuts, and caramel along with some yeast. Some nice notes of wood. Sweet taste of sugar, marshmallow, and vanilla. Earthy hop bitterness in the finish. A really nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Creamy, silky, and smooth with a drying finish.
Overall: A pretty good "German style" Porter. Good balance of dark malt sweetness and bitterness.
