a seemingly random collaboration, what is the connection here? anyway, this is a cool beer, belgian golden with lavender honey and tea, the kind of beer thats absolutely incredible when done well, and appalling when its not. fortunately, they got it nailed here. the yeast isnt too over the top, which was my primary concern. its not understated either, but its bright floral nature instead of heavy fruity or wine esters works great with the tea, which is highly herbaceous in this context, spring timey, and grassy too. there is a nice sweetness from the honey and and malt, no perfume lavender or anything, its pretty mild too, and there seems to be some hops in here late a well. bitterness from the tea at the end, but its all very delicate, notes of pear and elderflower and orange peel. served to me in a pint, which is not the way i would recommend it, i always hate when a bar does that, sort of cheapens the experience, and i would gladly sacrifice the volume for the right glassware. nice round body, upbeat belgian feeling carbonation, and a long floral finish without being too sweet from the honey. interesting and high quality beer.

Belgian blonde with honey tea.

On tap. White head. Golden color.

The tea is what makes this beer unique. Very herbal and sweet. Wildflower come to mind. A meadow with fresh water and grass is the picture this beer paints in my mind. Odd, I know, but it's what I think of. Dry finish. Very fun beer to try.
