Bold and robust. This Belgian Dark Strong was aged in toast-charred oak bourbon barrels for 14 months.

750ml bottle. Bottle date as given on label is February 2023. Foil wrapped cap.
Clear, ruby red colored body. Thin finger of khaki head, which remains as an island and ring. Extensive webs of lacing left behind.
Aroma is dark fruit, bourbon barrel, caramel, brown sugar, oak, and coconut spice.
Taste is sweet fig, green apple, brown sugar, caramel, bourbon barrel, vanilla, oak, and a spice close to cinnamon. Dark fruit, bourbon, and brown sugar extend into the aftertaste.
Medium plus mouth feel, with a syrup texture. Warming but generally hides the higher ABV% without a burn. Supportive carbonation.
Sweet dark fruit and brown sugar conditioned on the oak of a bourbon barrel. Well integrated.

This is delicious. Coconut, oak, bourbon/whiskey, brown sugar, caramel, figs, apple skins, banana/Belgian yeast, toffee, fruity notes. Smooth, flavorful, lightly warming. Everything here is on point. Another winner from DM.
