On draft at Pizza Lucé. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee, pine and chocolate. Sweet chocolate and toffee with a piney bitterness and touch of coffee.

Picked up a pint with dinner at Pizza Lucé.
A - Pour is dark, dark brown, verging on black, with a thin, dark brown head that yields some lacing.
S - Smell offers mostly roasted malt notes, coffee and chocolate, with a pine and fruit note beneath.
T - Follows the nose, but with a peppery spice note and a stronger bread hit through the middle from the robust malts. The chocolate and coffee elements are present, and the fruit runs along, with just a touch of savoriness. Deep and complex.
M - Given the flavor, this is a surprisingly easy drinker. Slightly light, moderate carbonation, and a clean finish.
O - Never was much a fan of the TV show, but I am a big sucker for Black IPAs, and I'll grab one when I see it. This delivered a solid, enjoyable pour, and I'd definitely pick it up again, if it is on the menu.
