a tasty hefe here, just not all that interesting or distinct, but it is well made, and serves as a more than suitable example of the style. there isnt a whole lot of haze to the pour, but its not real clear either, sort if in between, with a white head thats nice on the initial pour but cant stand up long. it smells like the right yeast, banana and clove all the way, and obviously fermented warm enough for these esters to really take over. the taste is similarly yest driven, and i like that the wheat malt base has more heft to it than most. its not thick beer, but it certainly has some structure, and with the lively carbonation, the mouthfeel is one of the beers best assets. i was hoping for a little more nuance in this one, but aside from a balancing hop in the finish, this tastes like about a million other american made hefeweizens out there. not a bad thing, just no real appreciable point of difference. still, this was one of the more enjoyable beers here, and my girlfriend liked it a lot.
