Muddy reddish-brown with chunky fish food floaters and a thick, fluffy beige blanket leaving some spongy lace.

Smell is caramel, syrupy hop resin, prune, toast, peppery cologne and orange.

First sip brings an almost instant headache from the hoppy booze, but it pulls back revealing prune, caramel, raisin and spicily hoppy, sharp burnt pine resin. The oak provides a complexity that's unique but not easily detected--it adds to the splintery dryness though.

Slick body with tangy and tingly heat and a chewy dry finish.

Pours dark amber. Hazy. Thick, creamy head. Good retention.
Nose is oak, plum, cherries, raisin, darkfruit, slight alcohol burn.
Taste is dark fruit, cherries, plum, raisin, French oak, alcohol burn, blackberry.
Thick, creamy.
Very interesting. Not as hop forward as I'd expect for an American barleywine. Oak is very prominent. Can't think of anything else I've had that was French oak aged to compare it to. Not bad.

Dark amber in color with a head that tries to start but never really takes off. Concerning.

Dark fruit such as plum and black grape are wrapped with notes of pine, resin and faint sugar.

Taste is undoubtedly bop forward but plenty of stone fruit, cherry, black grape and plum also come to play. A bit of syrup, brown sugar and oak are also noticed.

Medium to heavy and somewhat boozy but never hot, just the way I like it. Soft in the middle and dry at the finish.

Have always enjoyed what I've had from this crew, and this one is no different.

Pours murky brown from can to glass. Low head-ring, fairly decent lacing.
Smell is a hint of fresh apricot and stone/ tropical fruits and oak burn.
Taste is malty with barrel burn and some terrific complex fruit notes...apricot, figs, and candies yams all dunked in oak barrels. After sipping some more, the wine really comes through. Tannins of grape wine.... Tasty, interesting, complex stuff. At 11%, nothing comes out as overbearing in terms of what's bitter, sweet and burning here.
Feels medium-smooth, somewhat slick, creamy-good feel and chewy with and end-stickiness,yeah this has everything good after each sip. Perfected balance of malts, oak barrel and fruit/ wine notes while the hops are kept in their appropriate place.
Just highly impressive, canned greatness.
