Served in a tumbler at Mundelein Brewfest 2014.
Stepping up to Light the Lamp, following the extinction of their special cask of Sin Bin Stout, for some Citra-hopped goodness. This stuff pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises honeydew, bright yellow grapefruit zest, pineapple, mandarin orange, light pine resin, honey, and a touch of Creamsicle. Spoiler alert: this was easily the best nose of the festival. The taste brings in more of the same, though the various fruit flavors cancel parts of each of other out, muting some of the brightness, but it's still mostly there, the pine taking a slightly stronger place in society. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly drying finish. Overall, a great Citra pale ale, a nice sign of the good things going on up in Grayslake.
