Light golden amber, ample foam that puffs above the rim, doing a solid Pillsbury biscuit impression. Lasting foam and spotty lace.
Aroma is malty with some estery fruit that compliments.
Grainy and malty, nutty with some bread crust and hard tack flavors. Medium bodied, bittersweet, a slight boozy warmth and bitterness bleeds through.
Overall it’s drinkable and has some malt complexity, one and done for me though.

Hometown brewery that I rarely frequent -- just never been that impressed with their beers, but I wanted to give their canned offerings a go -- especially a favorite style.
"American Maerzen" (their spelling, not mine), so I guess there needs to be some leeway in judgment?
Canned 8.25.22. 6.0 ABV on the can.
L -- Clear, bronze color with a dense, off white head that holds up well.
S -- Mostly herbal noble hops in the nose. Mild DMS and earthiness.
T -- Earthy to nutty malts up front that fold into a touch of bread then light caramel. Finishes bitter in a somewhat harsh -- near astringent and solvent character. There's also vegetal DMS fighting against the solvent. A touch of caramel in the aftertaste.
F -- Mouthfeel was crisp to dry with a light medium body.
O -- With the malt flavors being rather thin and the strong bitterness in the finish and aftertaste, this one doesn't score well in the Märzen category for me. I wish I had another beer in the queue for my 750th.

Tasted in an mug from draft at Light The Lamp Brewery on October 12, 2019. Traditional German style Marzen. A nice interpretation of the style. Worth a try.
