Part of a flight on tap during my first visit to this taproom while visiting my inlaws.
This hefe pours a cloudy yellow with a small lingering head typical of wheat beer.
Smell was nondescript at first, but opened up with a green banana and cream note after a few minutes. Hints of clove and and fruit also appear in the nose given time. Reminiscent of a banana split given the sweet fruit and banana notes.
Tate is similar to smell. Not typical hefe banana flavor — sharp and green banana flavor is dominant balanced nicely with semi complex grainy maltiness.
Overall, a very unique hefe. I was skeptical after the first sip, but it got a lot better after I came back to it in the flight. Ended up being my third favorite beer out of an 8 beer flight.

Man, this Bears game has gone downhill way too quickly. Maybe another beer will help me deal? This stuff pours a cloudy gold-straw topped by over a finger of light cream-white foam. The nose comprises light wheat, light lemon zest, very light clove, and a vague sense of banana in the background. The taste holds notes of funky wheat, banana, clove, coriander, and a bit of lemon, both zest and rind. The heavy banana really works here. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a lightly grainy feel. Overall, a pretty nice hefe, especially for those who like theirs with a strong sense of banana.
