Tasted in a 12 oz snifter from draft at Light the Lamp Brewery. Dark roasted malt goodness. Recommended.

A: Black with amber tones on edge of glass when held up to light. Small tight head that dissipates quickly.
S: Sweet and Roasty, with coffee and carmel notes. Subtle fruitiness also present.
T: Subtle flavor compared to nose. Slightly watery. Roasted bitterness balanced with carmely malt that ends in more roast. finishes with sweet roast and mild dryness.
M: A bit thin, with moderate carbonation. Mild dryness complement light flavor.
O: Not a bad stout. More of a session stout, with a great nose and mild on the palette. A bit more body would help, but an overall good beer — good enough to take a growler home from the taproom, anyway.

Served in a shaker pint glass at the tap room.
Finishing up my first visit to the brewery with some despondence over the Bears' lackluster play and a nice, sessionable stout. It pours a bleak black-brown topped by a stoic finger of dark-ish khaki foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, mild cocoa, and light toast. Things are muted thanks to the nitro-tap. The taste brings in more of the same, with a stronger sense of the roast and a bit of that Guinness-style sourness in the finish. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a nice nitrogenation and a subsequently smooth feel. Overall, I liked this tasty stout best out of the initial run here. It may not set the world on fire, but it's one I'm likely to have during future visits.
