Poured from bottle into tulip, good 2+ off white head, great retention and lacing. Dark golden in the glass, not hazy but thick looking. Nose is sweet malt and roasted coffee. Taste is sweet malt in the front, toffee, roasted coffee, slight bit of chocolate comes thru. Tales off with a slight bitterness on the finish. Easy drinker, but I think a dab of vanilla would have worked well with this.

Slightly hazy amber. Smallish white head. The smell is of coffee with cream and sugar. Toffee, and caramel are also present.
The taste follows the nose, there is an immediate hit of coffee backed up by the caramel. It’s slightly sweet but not overpowering. There’s only a slight hint of toasted malt and none of the burnt bitterness found in a dark stout. There’s a little lingering hop bitterness as well as the coffee/caramel in the finish.
Overall, I think this is outstanding. Not something I’d have everyday but maybe good enough for special occasions.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a rich golden color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a decent sum of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is quite big of coffee with some more subtle notes of cocoa. Along with thee smells comes some caramel sweetness and a little bit of earth and nut.
Taste – The taste begins with a big caramel malt flavor with a good showing of some coffee and a bit of cocoa. As the taste advances more caramel and some roastiness and toast flavors as well as a bit of earthiness comes to the tongue. Toward the end the cocoa amps up a bit, and with a little bit of an almost crème like flavor, one is left with a dark roasted, but not dark, taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the more stout like flavors of the brew the feel is great and makes for a nice slow sipper.
Overall – A rather nice “white stout”. It has nice notes of coffee and cocoa but a more crème ale like body. Overall rather thick, tasty, and hearty.

One of three “blonde” stouts I have had in the past month. Had it on tap at the brewery in a tall, snifter.
It has classical dark chocolate and coffee smell and taste. Smooth feel. Maybe a slightly sweeter taste than some stouts, but this has been the best blonde stout to date. Very nice beer!
