Tried this at the brewery on 1/3/15 and decided to take a growler home which I opened on 1/4/15.
Look:
Very nice creamy brown head, pours nicely. Slight shade of brown from being pitch black.
Smell:
Some cocoa but there is an overwhelming vanilla extract odor present. A little off-putting.
Taste:
Big improvement from what the nose would indicate. Again the vanilla dominates, but actually provides a sourish note, similar to cranberry/raspberry stouts I have had in the past. Flavors do not linger, a somewhat clean finish.
Feel:
Well carbonated, a little thin but although the ABV is not known I expect it is in the 5% range (explaining the thin body).

Poured from a half growler into a pint glass. This is their first attempt at this style and they nailed it. Brewed in November with an ABV of 5.5%.
Pours a deep chocolate color with a creamy tan head. Can't get a better looking beer.
Smells great and WOW it is velvety smooth going down. Slight hint of smoke as a Porter should have. Even better than their Coffee Milk Stout. You guys need to add this to your year round line-up.
