A moderate pour from a 32-oz growler yielded a fat finger of light tan creamy foam with very long retention and flattened double-ues of lace. Deep reddish brown color, translucent with dark amber highlights.

Mild smell of toasted dark bread, rising dough, caramel and very faint spicy and herbal hops. Roasted malt, baked apples with brown sugar, toffee and bakers chocolate are added in. These items all follow to the taste.

Semi-sweet with average bitterness at first taste. Roasted malt character dominates as the sweeter items take a back seat. Roasted nuts and a slight burnt sugar taste appear as the spicy hop bitterness rises to well above average.
Sweetness backs down to neutral at the long and slightly astringent finish. A peppery hop bite lingers a while.

Medium light body with plenty of carbonation throughout the drink. Smooth and a little oily, alcohol is detectable as it warms. Great blending of roasted and sweet tastes, roasted taste wins but there are no losers here.
