A light pour from a 16-oz. can is all it takes to reach a finger of off-white creamy foam with long retention and broken arches of lace. Hazy pale straw color, just a hint of yellow.
Mild smell of citrus featuring orange, pale malt and white toast. Bread crumbs and herbal hops are noted with a hint of lemon meringue pie. A yeasty dough smell haunts the background. These items get their turn during the taste.
The taste is semi-dry with a red peppery bitterness. Once the bitterness subsides a bit , fruit-bowl fruits (no banana) almost add sweetness. Malty rich with toasted pale malt shining through as bitterness rises. Some fresh-cut grass and a general graininess appear late as the long finish yields to a peppery and spicy aftertaste that lingers quite a while.
Average body and carbonation per style, built up by abundant malt and kept moving by the C02. This is an East Coast IPA, very hazy and fruity yet still on the dry side and bitter. Warms well, alcohol almost remains hidden.
