One of my favourite strong beers, it has a nice full flavour and isn't spoiled by the alcohol content being over the the average (my average of 4.5-5.2%)
An all round good quality beer of high class. Much more sophisticated that the other famous King of beers bud.

Looks golden and very apetizing in the glass. Nice head. Smells sweet and grainy. The taste is like a helles Bock. Can taste the alcohol but that is sth that is typical for that style of beer.... overall i miss the balance coming from hops. Nothing special for me as a german beer Drinker.

Bought this little 330ml bottle in Austria then brought it to Canada...

A - Typical golden-coloured body, with a pretty good white creamy head. I would say the head retention is good for a strong lager.

S - Smells grainy, with hints of bread and caramel. Slight hints of citrus and apple. Some grassy hops.

T - It was nice to get some interesting flavours out of this beer. It has a creamy malty backbone, with hints of caramel and apple pie. The Saaz hops show just a little, giving the beer a slight spiciness and some floral notes. Not very bitter; quite sweet and sugary.

M - A little bit disappointing overall. At first I was amazed by how soft, creamy and not boozy it was. Medium body, low carbonation, good drinkability. However, if you let it warm up, it will become a bit difficult to drink (but not more difficult than your average strong lager, so it's manageable). Your best bet is to either drink it fast or take small sips.

O - I was not expecting much from this beer, but it turned out to be quite nice. Easily, one of the most flavourful strong lagers from Europe.

Look: the beer pours a yellow color with a large white head
Smell: malts, saaz hops and orange peel
Taste: caramel, orange zest, honey and typical saaz hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Light body, with a nice tingling carbonation
Overall: Nice beer, a classic Czech beer. Watch and learn, US bud

Light amber & topped with a pinky sized, bubbly white head that disappears to leave a patchy, soapy lacing after about twenty seconds.

Very sweet & sugary on the nose initially, with some sweet malts sneaking in after this. There is a hint of grassy hops & a little grain.

Like the nose the taste is also very sweet but not in an overpowering sense & this manages to hide the alcohol content well. The hops are faint & hard to detect but the sweet malt favour isn't, nor is the sugar.

Medium mouthfeel & quite a bit of carbonation, the beer is smooth, crisp & a little dry right at the end. It also has a bit of a kick to it.

I simply enjoyed the beer for what it was, a good quality strong pilsener lager that I would happily purchase again.
