Appearance: deep mahogany almost black. Thin tan head with weak retention. Leaves behind a thick lacing. Pretty much opaque but with some clarity alon the very edges.
Smell: hot spices. Ginger, cinnamon and clove. Some alcohol. Slight malty base of nuts, coffee and some light roast.
Taste: opens with some light malts. Nutty and light chocolate. Spices quickly take over. Strong ginger and clove. Cinnamon and possibly some allspice. Very hot and harsh spices. Some slight booze.
Mouthfeel: hot with spices. Warmth from either that or a slight bit of alcohol. Fairly full bodied.
Overall: it has some good flavor but the spices are just so hot. Needs either less time on the spices or more time to mellow
