Champion has their flagship offering with their megalodon coffee porter. This is the best beer they have made.

Appearance: pours a solid black color, slight deep brown around the edges. thick foamy brown head with good retention and leaving behind some big foamy streaks along the side of the glass. completely opaque due to the darkness.
Smell: light roasted coffee beans. a touch of cream. dark fruit. chocolate and roast.
Taste: Opens with a mellow chocolate that is quickly overtaken by coffee beans. a fairly light blend of coffee as the bitterness and astringency is fairly low. a nice combination of dark fruits. some what of a metallic twinge at times. roasted malts show up near the end and linger on.
Mouthfeel: fairly light for a big barrel aged porter. lots of bitterness from coffee and blackened malts. low alcohol presence.
Overall: I'm not the biggest coffee beer fan but I think the port barrel really adds some nice dark fruit complexity to it. Can't wait for more Champion bottle releases.
