Pours a clear red color with a thin carbonated head. Head retention is very mild and lacing is decent. Does have a nice citrus tropical aroma with hints of hibiscus. Decent taste. Tropical citrus flavors but with a bit too much bitter hibiscus at the end. Lighter bodied with moderate to high carbonation.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance- The beer pours a rose pink color with a tiny fizzy white head. The head fades quite fast leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heavy of fruity smell with aromas of cherry, orange, tangerine, and grape. Along with these smells comes some aromas of a light herbal and citrus hop smell giving a very lightly hopped and sweet fruit punch like smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins very different then I would have expected. While anticipating a very sweet fruit punch flavor, that was not the case, with only a little bit of a fruity and sweet taste present upfront. Instead the strongest flavor was of a bready nature mixed with some flavors of a very light herbal hop. The herbal hop gets a bit stronger and is joined by a tiny bit of a grapefruit hop. All the while the fruit punch flavors get slightly stronger, and with a little bit more hop to leave one with a very lightly hopped (for a double IPA) taste, with a bit of fruit punch taste, to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light for an imperial IPA with a carbonation level that is rather moderate. A little bit more body may have been slightly better for the style, but overall it is OK.
Overall – Not really hop heavy but rather tasty overall. Probably nothing you will want to frequent but a fun one to try.

I got a late start on yesterday's NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I have promised that next week's NBS (Week 775) will be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
From the CAN: "Double India Pale Ale Brewed with Tangerines and Hibiscus"; "This bright pink Double IPA is brewed with tangerines and hibiscus for a crisp and refreshing taste, and dry-hopped with Citra and Amarillo for big fruity aromas."; "45 IBU".
All right, enough silliness! Beer is serious business & I got right down to business with a Crack! of the vent & the beginning of a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was CANtranced with its color & so I kinda missed the brief formation of a finger of foamy, soapy, rocky, carnation/amaranth/lemonade-colored head with very modest retention. Hmm. Color was more towards Rosé, not Blush, but a deeper shade from the base Amber (SRM = N/A), with NE-quality clarity. Nose had the flowery perfuminess of hibiscus, but I was not put in mind of a DIPA/IIPA or even an AIPA. It just did not seem to want to CANform to any style. Hmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not really up to par. The taste was flowery, perfume-y & rather vinous overall. It was like drinking a Rosé or a Blush, but I did not feel like I was drinking a beer. Finish was dry in a vinous way. Hmm. I feel like this was a swing & a miss for them, but as usual, YMMV.

A thanks to the champion of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a violet/pinkish color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is floral, light citrus. Taste is hibiscus up front, some tangerine at the finish, light bitterness. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall ain't bad, but it doean't meet my expectations for an IPA.

Pinkish hue, very odd for a DIPA. No head, no lacing. Very weak nose. The taste is better than the nose and look. Average at best and wouldn’t buy again.

04/05/18 on bottom of can.
Red wine hue with 1-finger head which falls away rapidly with no lacing.
Aroma is highly floral with a lot of tangerine/orange citrus and some honeysuckle herbal notes too. Malt is medium caramel with some toasty qualities. Bitterness is low-medium for style and no yeast character.
Feel is light and drinkable except for the caramel notes which don’t belong.
Not a solid effort - would not buy again.
