I got a late start on yesterday's NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I have promised that next week's NBS (Week 775) will be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
From the CAN: "A toned-down, close-quarters version of our IPA. This easy-drinking hoppy American Pale Ale is hopped heavily with Citra and Amarillo hops, for an extra citrusy taste. Deliberately drinkable."; "35 IBU".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was heartened as it foamed up nicely to form just over a finger of fizzy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with modest retention, quickly beCANming wisps. Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity, like liquid sunshine in my glass on this overcast day. Nose was definitely of Citra, heavy on lemon & grapefruit. Mmm. Mouthfeel seemed a tad thin, not watery, but not far removed from it. The taste, while still citrusy, lacked the Ooomph! of the nose. It also left me with a powdery feeling in my mouth, as though it might have been dry-hopped to the point of saturation. Hmm. Finish was semi-dry to dry, but I was just left feeling unfulfilled. YMMV.

Mostly clear, pale gold beer with a white head. The aroma is a lot of oranges and grapefruit with some floral hops. The taste is fruity and highly bitter. It weirdly tastes like an orange baby aspirin. Not a huge fan of this one but it is okay.
