a pink boots collaboration, an ipa done with pink grapefruit and hibiscus flowers, a bit of a deviation from the belgian styles they had on the rest of the beer list, although there is some estery yeast character to this, it doesnt present as classically belgian as the rest of their lineup, and ended up being maybe my least favorite of what we had to drink in here, its slightly soapy, really floral, and the hops dont really come through the grapefruit, so its a bit over flavored to me, natural as the fruit and flowers are in this, it doesnt quite hit like american or belgian ipa, neither one. it has a lightly pinkish orangey tone to it, a short white head and some good fizziness. the nose is a tad tangy up front with a lightly spicy ester, white wine, a faint astringency and maybe tartness from the grapefruit, a little sweet too though, honey, cranberry, and some citrusy hops that hit like sweet orange. the flavor really doesnt have much hop bitterness, and the hops seem mostly up front, its the grapefruit that leads in the middle of this, and there is more pithy sort of bitter at the end, a little strange with the yeast that comes out more and more as this warms, slightly vinous, generic citrus, middle of the roast residual sweetness. overall a cool idea but neither their best execution nor their cleanest brew...
