Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can.
A - Dark brown pour with some opaqueness, thin, but dense toffee lacing, little to no carbonation.
S - Aroma is light with an herbally, chocolate flare.
T - Chocolate, some fruitiness, a little bit of herbalness and some lingering chocolate piney-citrus bitterness.
M - Medium body, with a silky finish. Alcohol permeates up into the sinuses.
O - Not a black IPA fan but glad to have tried this!

From the 650 ml. bottle dated 02/15/16. Sampled (of course) on June 3, 2016 (6-03-16).
Dark brown to near black pour under a tremendous foamy tan head that lingers and laces.
Aroma of roasted sweet malts at first followed by earthy and pine hop notes and maybe a little spent charcoal.
Medium to full body. Smooth.
The taste begins with the same roasted sweet malt character (caramel), but it is quickly usurped by the same pine and earthy hop finish - except ends dry. 8.3% ABV but no booze in the taste or aroma.

I had a few samples of this at the Bacon & Beer Fest and, thanks to the lovely young ladies from 603, was able to get a 32oz fill for later.... Later was Sunday, 22MAY16, out in The 'Zebo..
Enjoyed the contents using a Sammy "perfect pint" glass. It was a clear, deep, opaque mahogany. Only could really see any color at the edges. It was topped by a rocky, frothy 1/2" layer of beige foam, and left great lacing stuck to the glass. Nose had a solid combo of roasty notes with rindy citrus. Body was about medium, and it was mostly smooth on the tongue.
Flavor was similar to the aroma. Had plenty of roasty action, being somewhat bitter with some charred characteristics. Balancing this were rindy, pithy hops; pineapple and some grapefruit in an earthy, dry finish. Quite satisfying! Zum Wohl!!

Cloudy dark brown. Light passes, barely. Above average starting head that settles to a fine layer of bubbles. Excellent spotty lace.
Very strong floral hop aroma absolutely belying the color. Blindfolded, I would think IPA completely.
The taste is of an excellent IPA with a touch of burnt malt giving this a surprising toastiness. The aftertaste is a great blend of expected hop and light stout flavors. I love this beer's complexity. Full bodied for an IPA.

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass bottled on 2/16/16. Pours a very dark mahogany with a 2 plus finger tan head that clings to the glass like a woman with a smoking body does her favorite pair of Yoga pants.
Smell is coffee milk, chocolate, biscuit, pinapple, and grapefruit rind.
Taste follows funny the pinapple and grapefruit start the party and the biscuity and expresso hang on the slitely dry finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, a nice amount of carbonation, as I said a little dry on the finish, and very drinkable for 8.3% ABV.
Overall this is one of the best beers that I have had from this brewery.

On tap at Cask and Vine.
Dark brown/Black color with a decent sized tan head. Big chocolate and caramel on the nose with lots of spicy earthy pine hops to counter. Flavor is sweeter than I expected with a bigger malt presence than it should have. Big chocolate toffee and caramel with some earthy pine to counter. Big body mild carbonation. This didn't work for me. The flavors are muddled, its too sweet and the hop bill clashes with the rest of the beer.
