I picked up a 2-pack this past Wednesday (13MAY20) and proceeded to enjoy them on opening day of The 'Zebo... Cans were 16oz and it was $15 for the 2....

Poured into a large snifter, it was an oily, dense black brew. Had a thin, fine, rim-job bit of head, with OK lacing... Aroma had rich choco (like Bosco!), along with a hint of molasses and bourbon. Body was medium to medium-plus, and the lack of prickle made it pretty smooth on the tongue.

Taste had more choco, with it being semi-sweet for the most part. Again, like Bosco with a touch of Ovaltine. Also found some dark fruit (dates, figs) present. Bourbon was present here as well, though it lingers well in the background as opposed to overwhelming the base flavors. Hopping was at a bare minimum. A solid 603 bier! Prosit!

From the 650 ml bottle dated 10/24/16. Sampled on December 25, 2016.

The pour is dark brown with a small and quickly fading off-white head. To be expected given its barrel aging.

The aroma tends to be sweeter and darker than I expected from a Bourbon Barrel aged Stout. Good caramel and toffee malt presence. But still plenty of Bourbon to ad that pungent bite.

Full body.

The flavor ends up being far more sweet than you would think for a Bourbon Barrel aged Stout. Yes, I get that woody booziness but the sweet caramel malts are more forward than anything else. Mild to moderate finish. Decent.

Bottle from the brewery. Slightly hazy deep brown bordering on black with a small but well behaved bubbly tan head. Bourbon and oak dominate the nose. Bits of vanilla roast caramel earth and chocolate blend nicely. The flavor is a bit sweeter than I anticipated from the nose. Silky milk chocolate with bits of roast oak and earth and a touch of dried fruit. Lingering roast and a touch of alcohol heat in the finish. Pretty nice sipper.

This beer pours a dark black color with a minimal head at the best.
The nose is rich from the barrel aging from this beer. Lots of bourbon and smooth roasted malts come to the front.
The taste is mellow with a smooth bourbon flavor and the rich roasted malts. The base beer is not over powered by the aging in this beer.
The mouthfeel is smooth with a light amount of carbonation present.
This is a smooth drinking Bourbon Barrel Aged Beer. I hope to pick up a few more bottles to put away a couple to see how it ages. But at the least it is a nice drinking beer at this point.
