Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a rugged burnt orange color with a small cap of a little white foamy head swiftly sliding door. Some light messy lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some apricot marmalade, grassy hop sweetness, biscuit malt, some honey sweetness and a touch of dried floral hops.
The flavor mainly leads with the sweetness of the prior mentioned aromas but seems to not have much floral hops at all here. Sticky sweet aftertaste of honey, apricots and biscuits.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. Finishes smooth and sticky sweet, nothing cloying.
Overall, there's so many DIPA's on the market anymore and this doesn't necessarily show me enough 'oomph' to want to come back to.
