From a waxed top 500 ml. bottle acquired in March 2023 and sampled on March 11, 2023.
The appearance is a slightly cloudy looking reddish amber with a modest, fading head. But this beer had a wax top and unfortunately some of the wax got into the glass.
The aroma is coconut, roasted malts, vanilla, earth, butterscotch, and dark fruits.
Medium-full mouthfeel.
The taste is sweet with coconut and malt forward characters. The booze is not that forward in either the flavor or aroma but my head felt it later I expect. Warming at the end. An easy drinking barleywine.
