Good head when poured, but it dissipates quickly, especially for a stout. Reddish brown color, a little thin looking for a stout. Not surprisingly for a breakfast stout, the first taste is coffee with a hint of chocolate, but little of the stout flavor comes through initially. If you let it sit in your mouth for a while longer you will get a mild flavor of stout, but this brew lacks the body and creaminess of a traditional stout, with none of the deep caramelized malt flavor one might expect. For me, this is not a bad brew, but it barely falls into the stout category, thus it disappoints.
