I found this one during a recent visit to 551 West (King Street) & their bottle shop. It is always interesting to go in there since a former student of mine works there & she is eager to point out new beers that have recently been put on display. This one is in furtherance of The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "Limited Release"; "Specialty Hop Series"; "Here's to taking the road less traveled in life and in beer!"
There is nothing like the dulcet tones of the Crack! as a CAN of beer is opened! I followed this up with a basic C-Line Glug which wound up forming just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with moderate retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5) & it may have been attributable to chill haze due to the internal temperature of my reefer or to a reduced amount/lack of filtration. Nose had a pungent pine/grapefruit/lemon smell with a slight tang, like cheesy Gueuze. Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was actually MUCH better than the nose had led me to expect. It was not at all cheesy, but instead, it had a very fruity character, ranging from citrusy grapefruit & lemon to tropical pineapple & honeydew. I found it to be an interesting combination, but I was unsure about it as an AIPA. Finish was semi-dry, quite fruity, with a lingering light bitterness. I would like it more as an APA, but that's just me sayin' ...

From the 330 ml can dated 09 May 2018. Sampled on July 7, 2018.
There are several beersfrom this series on BA but this was not one of those until I added it.
Moderately clear appearance that is yellow and mildly heady.
The aroma is grainy with a nice floral and fruit hop presence. It balances properly.
The body is light to medium but smooth.
The graininess is what I gert in the first swig in the taste with a notable and burning floral and fruit hop profile. Lingers. Nothing spectacular but certianly worth trying.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
