A: hazy; deep gold in color; 1+ finger finely pored ivory head that receded to a very thin cap; thick rings of lace;
S: canned pineapple juice;
T: acidic; pineapple juice and orange juice through the middle; the finish follows the nose; mild bitterness at the end;
M: medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish; alcohol is warming, but well hidden for 10.2%;
O: OK, but not something I would choose again;

The smell is a bit overwhelming. Taste is not my fav but it's probably the smell bringing it down . One and done on this one!

The first impressions are good ones. Even at room temperature there was no eruption of liquid from the pint can once it was cracked open. Second impression was how nicely the contents of the pint can emptied into a clear glass liter mug. There was no massive stark white foam, which is far too prevalent in modern American IPAs. Not so inviting is the bubblegum like sweetness within the immediate aroma. The question arises, are there added flavors to this? After the initial bubblegum sweetness to smell, some hopping and malting can be had. If there are added flavors here, now upon tasting, they don't enhance it much. Unfortunately, to taste, this is an alcohol bomb. Yes, there's some overly sweet malts to taste and it does have a nicely dry pine-like hop quality at the finish. But, whatever went wrong in the wort, this just bites too hard with its ABV, even acknowledging it brings one that's 10.2%. Credit because it doesn't taste like a boilermaker, just a high alcohol ale; but, this is more than a little harsh. Other than being a little too sweet, the juicy description isn't accurate. On the plus side, the apricot-amber color is beautiful. It's bright, yet dense; so, even without much glass lacing, this is an attractive brew. Then there are the less than positives: The aroma is almost entirely sweet and vaguely so. Again, bubblegum is the closest reference. The taste is sweet, but not in any immediate juicy fashion and it's one dimensional. There's plenty of taste of alcohol, although that's mitigated by the 10.2% ABV, to be fair. But, the mouthfeel is light and simple, so it doesn't carry the big ABV very well. This isn't a particularly good Imperial IPA, but it's good enough to pound one for a quick and serious beer buzz.

A- much better looking than standard hazy boi fare. Cloudy opaque substantial looking golden color with huge fluffy head and enormous lacing
S-subdued. Alcohol hits the nose, and some pine. That’s about it
T-Earthy pine hits up front. Some faint orange, and tangerine. Some vague juice, in a good way. Alcohol is nearly hidden. It’s subtly very good
M- hugely full bodied and carbonated
O- not complex or particularly but very solid. It’s great in a way I can’t explain

Two Roads Brewing Co. "MEGA Juicy"
16 fl. oz can coded "BBE 03AUG23 18:23:41" and sampled on 05MAR23
$16.99/16 oz. "Juicy" 6-pk @ Costco, Christiana, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: The MEGA Juicy is a whopping 10.2% ABV Hazy Imperial IPA. It pours a cloudy golden body with a light orange sheen beneath a finger's width of creamy white foam. In the nose you'll find notes of sweet golden malt, orange, apricot, and sugared pink grapefruit. The flavor follows with a sweet malt that's very basic, and doughy rather than bready. I can't tell if there's wheat and/or oats in there but I'll assume that there is; my point is that I'm not tasting them. The hops found in the aroma remain, and it's not really that much more complex. I'm finding some additional syrupy guava, soft mango, and nectarine. The alcohol has a clear presence, and at 10.2% it should, you want that, but it's far from brash. The bitterness doesn't seem that high, although I assume that what's there is just having trouble getting through the sweet malt. In the mouth it's full bodied and smooth with lots of extra proteins and a soft, fine-bubbled and moderate carbonation. I wouldn't really call this "MEGA Juicy" in terms of hops but as far as their "juicy" lineup goes it's certainly "MEGA" in terms of alcohol. I quite like it, and it makes a great movie night beer when you just want something to sip at before bed.

From the pint can, it pours a hazy orange amber color with a nice, lasting, just off white head. The nose gets a dose of citrus and some alcohol. The taste follows the nose, with the citrus coming through and a bit of tartness as well.

Can from tfontana, thanks again.
Hazy murky dark grapefruit in color with a thin bubbly white head that persists. Pithy citrus and earthy grass with an alcohol warming that is a little distracting.

Pours a hazy orange. Big foam. Hoppy aroma. Big juicy hop body. Sweet tropical fruit flavor. Thick and syrupy. You can definitely taste the alcohol. Definitely not for the beginner.

L: from the can and it’s fine
S: lots of sweet citrus
T: ok delivers on the nose. Lots of sweetness. Works for me but your mileage may vary
F: rich smooth
O: I like the style but you might find too sweet. Balanced is not the word

3rd Review of a beer from a brewer I always like. This one too over the top of perfumey and alcoholic in screwdriver to territory.
a) Apricot hazed fog body scant head and no lace. Orange juice comes to mine, with vodka.
s) Wine cellar, grape, pine, cedar.
t) All the above w more fruit, melon and too much orange.
f) Prickly, sharp.
o) Over kill on the perfume.

They weren't lying when they said Mega. Pours thick and cloudy, with lots of pulp, like fresh orange juice. Substantial head. Boozy, acidic, and bursting with citrus flavor and spice. Pink grapefruit and of course oranges. Really tasty stuff. I've had IPAs in all forms, and this is one of the better hazies to fill my glass.
