New We're Brown Bagging it Sunday
Life got in the way today and after 12 hours of working I am trying to get caught up on the madness.
Great lead in @cjgiant. This subject is one that I ponder over often, and I have actually been planning a LIF with this interaction of Bas in mind. I have been lucky to meet several people on this site, and many fellow NBSers, including CJ, and @Prager62. I can't say how many folks I have met in person overall without missing someone, but probably around a dozen. And one of them, @SomethingClever, I consider to a good friend. Even if a bad influence who I spend way too much time and money with.
I would really like to share a beer with some more. Especially the BIF family. I/we have had a blast all 6 rounds of this @beertunes orchestrated chaos, but this current one really connected us all in many personal ways.
On to the mystery beer from my sender, @Wasatch

This one poured a heavier medium consistency, opaque burnt orange with a pretty minimal cream colored head.
It smells fairly hoppy with a spicy mango aroma. Also a carmalized sugar that is molasses like, and some dates/sour fruit on top of a significant malt base.
Definitely well hopped. It has a prickly, biting hop flavor with some mango, peach, and something lighter... maybe pear and/or pineapple. I also get some red apple with a little bit of a vinegary cider taste, then some darker, more sour fruit on the back end like dates, or grapes. Sweeter, carmalized malts with a brown sugar flavor. A solid bitterness follows everything.
There is some lingering oily resin, and the carbonation is fairly creamy. The body suggest that it is a 10-12% beer.
I would score this higher as an American Barleywine, especially with the malt base.

750ml
Capped
Pours a pretty nice cloudy dark golden orange color, nice carbonation, with a small quick/fizzy off-white head, which does leave some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with a nice malt blend, citrusy, slight pine note. The taste is hoppy, very nice malt blend, citrusy, with some pine notes. Medium body, ABV not hidden too well, slight chewyness, nice little bitter/dry finish. Overall, a tasty DIPA. My first beer from this brewery.

Honey-hued body; thin yet lasting white head; sheets of foam and lacing down the glass. Toasted grain aroma. Biscuit flavor; cereal grain; sharp hop bitterness expands into the finish; some alcohol heat. Medium body; mild residual sugar heft; primarily dry finish.
A decent enough DIPA yet it seems more malt-forward than anything else. What spiky punch it may have probably arises from the relatively high ABV although there is also a respectable hop bitterness. For a DIPA,, other than the big ABV, this is rather pedestrian overall. Yes, it's tasty and produces a nice beer buzz, but just doesn't set itself apart from most other basic IPAs out there.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy copper orange with a small creamy off-white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.
The aroma is buttery caramel malts with a little fruit and hops.
The flavor is sweet malts with some butter and salt and a boozy hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall, not very good. Buttery with some saltiness and harsh alcohol.
