Ruby brown color where light can certainly pass through. Appears clear. One finger bar poured had. Always has a thin layer of bubbles. Some streaks on the glass.
It smells like a light stout. Not a bad thing -- it's attractive with deeply roasted malts with just a bit of burnt unmalted barley.
It starts off with what I describe in the smell but then I pick up the Belgian yeast flavors. It mellow after that with a toasted bread flavor with just a hint of fruit jam. Short aftertaste. Leans thin with moderate to above average carbonation.

Pours a reddish brown in color.
Aroma is blackberry and chocolate.
Taste is the same but a bit metallic on the finish.
Medium body, nothing exceptional in the feel.
Might be a funny keg. Metallic notes take away from what would be a very pleasant and interesting beer.

Nice drinking beer. Smooth no harshness at all. Very good but special.

Picked up a growler
L: Nearly black with red hues, clear with bright white head
S: Great blend of dark malt, fruity Belgian yeast (pear, apple), stone fruit. Mild roast
T: Identical to aroma, incredibly smooth and for such a dark beer very little roast. More fruity spicy, but there is a subtle roast hint
F: Very dry beer
O: A complete surprise, I thought this would be much more aggressive but it is wonderfully smooth and fruity. Heck I took a growler home so there you go
