Brett IIPA, 8.6% ABV: Our PNW Hop and Scottish malt IIPA goes through primary fermentation with our new house brett strain (thanks for the help, Wyeast). The result: bursting tart peach and orange from the hop blend, juicy, resinous pineapple from the Brett, and clean biscuit malt finish, dry as a British sense of humor.

On tap at Mule Bar in Winooski.
Pours a nice hazy orange, with light foam.
Smell is great, mango and pinapple, with a slight hint of rubbing alcohol.
Taste is a little bit sharp, with the rubbing alcohol getting a bit too strong. Behind it is a nice juicy blend of mango and lemon.
Mouthfeel is nice an fluffy, really soft.
Overall, I liked this, but didn't love it. The rubbing alcohol got in the way of an otherwise terrific beer.

On tap at ButaPub in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a bright vibrant yellow-ish orange, with a small head, and a lot of lacing.
Smells like juicy pineapple and tart melon, heavy duty Brett, clove, grassiness, and pine.
This isn't better than the regular Softly Spoken Magic Spells, but it's still a really fun variant. There's a really huge juicy hoppiness up front, pineapple, melon, and grapefruit, with a really sharp and bitter Brett character, clovey, grassy, and lots of funky hay. There's no malt character, really, but that's fine.
This is medium bodied, super juicy, a little bit creamy, with a normal level of carbonation.
Another really awesome beer from Singlecut. They seem to do no wrong lately.

Hazy yellow body with a pearl white head. Pineapple, orange, melon, peach with brett, grassy hops, and a hint of booze in the nose. Taste removes the booze thankfully, add mango and lemon to the fruity mix, finishes with a satisfying brett and hop dryness. Feel is juicy then dry, bright, chewy, and bright. A really fun spin on the style

beautiful murky orange, nice head that dissipates quickly into a slight ring around the glass, leaves nice lacing. smell is identical to softly spoken magic spells with some funk over the top of it. taste is juicier and sweeter than softly spoken but it almost looses that end-bite that makes SSMS outstanding. it's very creamy an fuzzy but could be a little fuzzier for being this flavorful. extremely great IIPA, but prefer SSMS.
