Bought this quite a while ago as the date on the bottom of the can read 2/18 of last year (yes, I'm quite behind!). This was a typical beer from Singlecut with a nice appearance, fluffy head, and soft hops but the hallmark of this beer was the sticky, tropical fruit flavor that lasted from the aroma to the final sip...

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a dark gold with plenty of fluffy head that filled up the remainder of my Singlecut goblet. A good amount of lacing was left behind as I worked my way through this as the foam never quite faded away. Lots of typical citrus on the nose with some mango behind it as the taste had a good amount of the latter in it. Some crisp pine came through as this warmed up as this beer was a bit thicker than normal and quite sweet without being overpowering. Not a lot of carbonation here and the booze was spot on too, which allowed the slightly syrupy feel of this to come through.

As others alluded to on here, there wasn't much wrong with this but it didn't break any new ground at the same time. Thankfully, the fact that these guys are still a bit under the radar makes it easy to get their offerings, such as this. Worth a go once for fans of IPA's from this neck of the woods!

Consumed 3/5/18

A: Tangerine gold with some pale orange at its core - hazy and turbid with some particulate floaties - pours with a medium size off-white head but fades quickly to virtually nothing, retains a small collar

S: Fruity and juicy - ripe, juicy tangerine and orange - green, leafy and herbal hops - juicy tropical notes with some pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and guava - something akin to cherry flesh as well - basically smells like fruit punch - mild sweetness

T: Ripe tangerine and orange juice and flesh - some touches of grapefruit flesh and zest - tropical notes are not as strongly pronounced as in the aroma, but they shine, with some pineapple, melon, and mango - some green, herbal hops and a slight touch of resin - low sweetness - oats - low bitterness - finishes with more fruit

M: Medium body, smooth and chewy, on the lower side for carbonation, finish could be cleaner

O: And the man in the back said everyone attack

I've been searching for this beer for a while simply because my name is Steve. I realize the name of this beer is a reference to Ballroom Blitz, and not me, but still. Conveniently, the beer itself is very tasty. It's a fairly well-rounded NEIPA, but perhaps the oats could be dialed down a bit, as they seem to reduce the tropical fruit punch.

A nice looking hazy golden straw colour with some particulate; head was rather small with only minor lacing. Aroma was a blend of malt & hops; seemed rather mild upon opening the can as well as while pouring. Taste was an improvement over the smell - a nice blend of juicy tropical citrus and sweet caramel malts. High IBU of 110 did not develop into any astringent bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth; almost buttery but broken up by the carbonation. A nice, what I also would call NEIPA. Can't get this one at home, but for those Ontarians looking to try something like this, watch for Collective Arts IPA #5 which is a very similar, and I would dare say just a bit better.

Canned 12/12/17

Semi cloudy golden yellow.

Smell is very juicy, grapefruit, typical tropical citrus hops and very hefty

Taste is orangy with a little peach and apricot. Slight buttery diacytle.

Medium bodied, soft feel. Fluffy almost.

Nice representation of an NEIPA.

Is Singlecut just pumping out any $6 can of IPA's now? Aside from the very nice, dry, spicy finish this beer seems muddled. Almost like it isn't finished. It isn't much of a looker but the aroma is there. Packed with tropical fruit with some green and spices, which is what I imagine they were going for.

Medium gold-orange body, opaque with haze, few fingers of off-white foam left lace trails down the glass... Aromas were fruity - tropical and citrusy, followed by a kinda murky, muddled tropical fruit melange, but still leaning toward the dry side - which I prefer - and with something of a grainy vibe that I have found in other beers from SingleCut, and I have mixed feelings about... Bitterness was mild, feel was soft and smooth... Kinda par for the course as SingleCut goes... 12/19/17 canning...

L: Looks like a tropical fruit smoothie. Nice lace, good head retention
S: Tropical fruit: peach, passionfruit, papaya, pineapple, maybe some orange. Slight tang. Bubble gum esters
T: Nose carries over, slightly sweet/tangy. Bitterness is soft, on the back end. Dry and more grapefruit like. Sweet-bitter balance is perfect. Maybe even slightly creamy as well
F: Yup. They nailed it. Perfect pillowy, frothy, and creamy mouthfeel. Full yet light, whispy. Drinkable as hell
O: This is as good as anything I've had from benchmark breweries like Treehouse, and I've had my fair share in my day. This is top notch. And I bought it in my local grocery, what could I possibly complain about?

Are You Ready Steve? - Singlecut
IPA - 7% abv
Canned 12/19/17 (16 days ago)
Purchased for $7.69 at Monde Market

L - 3-finger offwhite creamy head sticks around. Body is the typical Singlecut dirty orange murk.

S - orange, grapefruit, bubblegum.

T - grapefruit at first. Dirty/earthy hops in the middle. Very bitter finish. No sweetness. Mild alcohol burn.

F - medium body and carb.

O - not my favorite from them. The dirty hops detract from the otherwise juicy taste.
