Drank from a one pint can purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA

Served in a tulip

The cloudy, peach colored liquid was topped by a small film of off-white bubbles that quickly dissolved. No lacing or head retention whatsoever. Not the most attractive of beers perhaps.

The nose was really hoppy and potent. Fruity and fairly sweet. Big overripe mango and peach notes. As the beer sat, citrus came forth. Lots of bright, juicy orange and tangerine aromas. Some weed-like darkness appeared later in the session.

The flavor was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Citrus dominated. Freshly squeezed orange juice and tangy tangerine notes came to mind. Moderately tart in the center. Somewhat lemony. Hint of mango. Orange and grapefruit peel appeared as the beer moved along the palate. There was a sweet, malty quality on the back end. Some candied orange peel perhaps. More orange and grapefruit pith on the finish. Good dose of resiny pine sap as well. Fairly bitter. Both the sweet malts and the bitter, rindy, resiny notes lingered after the swallow.

Pretty average mouthfeel. As the head (or lack thereof) might suggest, the beer contained a very fine, subtle effervescence. This felt a bit under carbonated for sure. The liquid was slightly shy of medium bodied for the style. Frothy and slick on the palate.

I reacall being really blown away by Softly Spoken Magic Spells, but this double dry hopped version came across as malty and sweet yet also dry and bitter. I usually expect SingleCut beers to be NEIPA juice bombs, but this one definitely contained heavy West Coast influences too.
