Built for comfort, not for speed. TS&BJ is our double dry-hopped behemoth brewed for maximum resinous aroma, pure citrus and cannabis on the nose, with a long, beautiful finish that moves between sweet tropical juice and peppery herb.

Hazy orange color with a thin white head. Tropical fruits and malt in the aroma. Moderately sweet and juicy. Hoppy bitterness shows up closer to the end.

Sure, I love SingleCut as they were one of the first craft breweries that caught on with me as part of the "second beer boom" 6 or 7 years ago. They have a great space, great lineup, and nice labels for their cans but at the same time, I've enjoyed what I've imbibed on as well. This was no exception to that even though the date on the bottom of the can read 4/11/17 with "YOUR AD HERE" written above it, as this was quite pleasing and easy to quaff - even for being so old!
Quite an apricot hue to this beer as it was topped by plenty of full and aged foam on top. Very little sediment settled at the bottom of the liquid even though this beer's appearance was quite muted and turbid, but not to the point where light couldn't seep through around the edges. Lots of soft hops, bread, tobacco, onion, and lime in the varied nose as the taste contained all of those as well. Hints of dry wheat and grass came through with a herbal mouthfeel to give this beer a full and mellow depth that was enjoyable, without feeling heavy. The Pilsner and Pale Malts gave this beer it's identity but the yeast strain that's common among SingleCut's other offerings came through as well, with the end result being a brew that was on par with their other offerings...
For the amount of booze this had, it was hard to feel it with so much going on as a very subtle warming effect took hold of me by the time I finished this off. While not the best brewery that I've had in recent months, SingleCut will always hold a place in my heart as they were one of the first of the "new wave" that changed the way that I imbibed. This continued that trend as it was so soft, well-rounded, and enjoyable that I couldn't help but feel nostalgic for the time when I embraced cans as the wave of the future. This was a lovely beer that fit in with their more popular offerings!

1/24/19 batch drank on 2/24. Hazy dirty yellow with a thin head that leaves just a trace of lace on the glass. Not much aroma other than alcohol and malt...no hop aromas to speak of. Taste has some nice citrus but is a little off. Mouth is medium bodied and somewhat dry with low carbonation. Overall, not the outstanding brew that I'm accustomed to with Singlecut, epecially given the high cost.

Canned 1/24. A pale, cloudy, orangish-yellow, some sediment at the bottom of the glass but with the can sitting for a month it's not entirely surprising. About a half inch of head that faded quickly leaving a ring of foam around the edge, modest lacing at best. Smell is dank, yellow onion, floral, a bit of tart sweetness and cracker. Very tasty, strong floral hop forward, grassy, sharp bitterness. Smooth despite the bitterness, on the softer side in terms of carbonation, no lasting bitterness, easy finish despite the stated 145 IBU.
