Double dry-hopped IPA
WE’RE ALWAYS EXPLORING the wide world of hops that exists and is constantly evolving. This IPA combines a new variety from Australia that provides soft tropical fruit with some good ‘ol PNW hops that add bright citrus. That sure doesn’t sound like anarchy to us.

I felt like the hop presence on this one was a little soft - there are some vague tropical notes (melon, mostly) and grassiness, but nothing really comes together pointedly.

From a 16oz can dated 3/26/19. Pours a cloudy, straw/amber color with a modest head. Nice tropical darkness on the nose. Soft mouthfeel and a little sweetness along with mild bitterness, and tropical notes. Would not surprise me if there is a little lactose here. In any event, smooth and delicious.

I spent yesterday's New Beer Sunday (Week 724) in a CANcerted effort to drink, review and rate a buncha SingleCut CANned beers in the furtherance of The CANQuest (tm). Sadly, my backlog was greater than the time allotted & I was cut short before my intended finish line. I am now picking up where I left off over the course of the coming week. Viva The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "Rulpsen says: 'Come visit our brewery!"; "SingleCut Beersmiths is proud to maintain the American tradition of beer locally made from craft by zealots/lunatics who believe hard work, truth, pride and passion should always come before profit."; "Mastery Knows No Shortcut"; "118 IBU".
I beCAN with a Crack! of the vent, followed by a C-Line Glug since yesterday's antics are so ... yesterday. It was still kind enough to form just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention, leaving loads of lacing in its wake. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5). That has been my CANsistent bugaboo with these guys - unfiltered is fine, but perhaps the beers need more time to flocculate before CANning. I never though that I would find myself advocating for filtration, but here we are. Nose was odd, with a slightly cheesy Gueuze-like pungency. I noticed this in another recent beer. Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was not as pungent as on the nose, but it still had an oddly intense bitterness, perhaps due to the high IBU count. It was quite fruity with notes of mango, papaya, guava and honeydew, begging the question of where the bitterness was coming from. In continuing to drink it, I got an increasing menthol-like pine quality. Hmm. Finish was cool, dry and minty. This was quite different from the standard AIIPA, but not bad overall.
