SO WHAT EXACTLY is the difference between a Porter and a Stout? Well if you ask us, a Stout in general is sweeter while a Porter drier. So this brew does indeed have a dry finish with roast abounding. Gigantic cacao (and vanilla) infused to round out the clean body. Very satisfying when the weather has you pondering whether to go with snow shoes or galoshes.

Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark, dark pour... nearly black with massive brownish head. Great retention and sticky lacing.
S: Coffee, roast, and cocoa.
T/F: Sweet roasted sugars and grains... espresso, milk chocolate, and vanilla. The bitterness of the roast balances it out a bit but definitely sweet up front. Creamy carbonation and mouthfeel.
O: A well above average porter... a great cold weather beer, and I do enjoy the cocoa/roast on this one. As usual a solid effort from Singlecut.

Excellent Porter. Great taste that goes down smooth. No bite and almost creamy. Love the molasses taste and maybe dark chocolate including some dark fruit and raisins. A pleasure to drink. Thanks to my BA’s for this gem.

Very dry taste and finish, not sweet with mild bitterness coming from the bitter chocolate . Has a strong milk chocolate taste which I wouldn't think would work with dry and unsweet but it was an above average beer

Poured from a bottle dated 2/22/18 to a diagonal tumbler.
Dark enough to be opaque, medium light brown head.
Smells like a milk chocolate bar.
Taste is definitely cocoa powder up front, finishes a little sweeter than I would like, but acceptable. Mild alcohol after swallow.
Mouthfeel is a little light for a porter, but it seems to be appropriate for the overwhelming cocoa powder flavor.
Overall pretty good, but definitely something you have to be in the mood for.

Poured from a bottle dated 02/22/18. Pours a dark black with a amber head. Loads of chocolate and coffee, and toasted malt on the nose and palate. Delicious! And the bottle says 5.4% ABV , not 4.6% as entered in the BeerAdvocate description.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
Lively, and cascading filling tan to almost orange tinge colored head right upon the pour. Three fingers, with a surprisng swiss cheese retention and springy girth to the top, almost an island puck too. A very unique dark shade of mahogany deep DEEP red color too. Neat looking porter.
Light roasty notes on the aroma, hitting the nose with a touch of milky chocolate. Creamy sensing and rich, but also some dry grains and almost crackling malt base sensing. Flirts with cake like qualities.
Palate hits with very good precision. First sip hits a little chocolate sweet, but quickly gets into excellent roast and char like territory. Mid palate gives a roast coffee angle, even some dry hazelnuts with a little bit of tannic edge. Finishes creamy almost vanilla in flavor too. Char, chocolate, and a biting roast bitter finish that's very playful.
Excellent take on a porter, real delicious treat.
