DDH MO' SHUGGIE IPA is bringing all the New Zealand hop love to you. Our biggest fan favorite is given a massive second dry-hop (since we're so picky about the hops we use for this brew that we can only brew it a time or two a year, why not go big?!). Massive aroma of pineapple, tart mango, dry white grape, fruit musk, and a little herbal hint, round out this intense hop experience.

Cloudy honey color, 2F head in a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Earthy, grape, citrus, sweet, floral aroma.
Smooth, almost malty MF.
Banana, grape, lots of fruit, earthy taste.
Excellent hoppy finish.

Med/pale with 1/2 inch head; fades to patchy/lacy in 5-10 min. Nose is balance of spicy, earthy, sappy, fruity hops with med pale malt & hint of yeast.
Palate is big, round, spicy, earthy, full. Light pungent sweetness. Rich, tight & juicy at same time. Great interplay of malt & hops. Med/light bitterness, but with layers of earthy, spicy, piney, fruity, flowery hops. Really spectacularly balanced brew on the palate.
Big, elegant & more-ish - hard to put down. The more you drink, the more impressive it gets.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Golden hazed pour with 1.5 fingers of foamy white head. Great retention and outstanding lacing.
S: Juicy and tropical... dank... pineapple, grapefruit, and tangerine.
T.F : Sweet juice up front... pineapple, mango, and grape. Gives way to a modest citrus bitterness with grapefruit and tangerine rind. Floral notes... grains are light and in the background. Sticky on the tongue, with more fruit and tropicals at the finish.
O: Another outstanding DDH IPA from Singlecut. I feel like a broken record but I pretty much love all of their big IPA's.

A: Poured from the growler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy orangey-golden with a small whitish head that leaves behind some splotchy lace.
S: Sweet tropical fruity hops and citrusy hops (the usual suspects: grapefruit and orange peel). Some earthy, herbal notes as well.
T: Sweet foundation, then tropical fruit (pineapple, melon), citrus (oranges, limes, grapefruit), soft apricot and white grapes and grape skins. Finishes with a surprising bitterness - not sure what hops they use, but I'm getting Nelson-like grape skins and a touch of lemony bitterness at the finish. ABV is noted as heat on the back of the palate and in the belly.
M: Juicy and creamy, call it medium, heft-wise.
O: Another solid NE IPA from Singlecut. Not a world-beater, but solid.

Pours cloudy gold color with a 1-2 finger off white foamy head that was full of tiny bubbles, dissipating slowly and leaving real nice spotty lacing. Smells of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, piney notes, melon, starfruit, tropical fruit, Razzles candy, mild caramel and biscuit. The aroma is really tropical and full of fresh citrus fruit. Smells like a handful of fresh citrus hops, more so than double dry hopping.
Tastes just as juicy as it smells, with the grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, melon, starfruit and tropical fruit joined by pineapple, tangerine and apricot. There are piney notes, tea leaf, dry floral aspects, caramel, grains and biscuit too, but the juicy citrus hops simply dominate. The bitterness was mil, the carbonation on the light side, the ABV perfectly hidden and the overall drinkability was high. Overall a really tasty IPA.

This might be the best beer I've had.
L: Textbook NEIPA with great head retention, beautifully frothy and nice lacing.
S: Incredible Nelson wave. There is no hop like it, I'm not sure I can describe it as it is just it's own thing - a new dank fruit.
T: Again, classic Nelson but presented so wonderfully. Intense wave of flavor but not astringent or too aggressive. The finish though is just a show stopper, finishes amazing clean and with a brightness I haven't experienced in any Nelson brew.
F: Soft, full and IMO a flawless balance of feel but not too much so.
O: The DDH version of Mo Shuggie is everything you'd hope for. Absolute knockout from the gents at SC.

Poured from a 16oz can dated 9/7/18 to a nonic glass.
Amazing head of multi-sized bubbles that leaves heavy lacing, fat enough to wonder how it hangs on to the side of the glass. Translucent gold color, hazy but not cloudy. You can change the color by putting your hand behind the glass, but in no way can you see that it is a hand.
Smells slightly like astringent pineapple , if you can picture that. The hops are strong with this one.
Taste follows aroma, but sadly I'm not really in love with this flavor. Not bad, but just not my hop I guess. Pretty skillful representation of these hops though.
Mouth feel is nice and creamy. Carbonation plays only at the back end allowing the enjoyment of the coating capability.
Not a fan of this hop, but this is a well executed beer.

Medium-gold and murky, with a finger or two of ivory foam... Has a well-rounded New Zealand hop character, with soft plush fruit impressions somewhere between tropical and orchard-like... Doesn't get too bitter or too sweet, rides the middle with a soft, plush body and a rounded feel... I always dug Mo Shuggie Souldbender, and this double dry hopped version is great, too... 9/7/19 canning...

Canned on 9/7/18, drank on 9/19/18; labeled as 77 IBUs; Mo' Shuggie Soulbender was the first SingleCut beer I ever had and, despite a very lengthy absence in my distro area (mesaured in years), still to this day I swear it is their best IPA; randomly found the DDH version today and it is just plain awesome, love the unique Mo' Shuggie aroma and taste
