BANG YOUR HOPHEAD! Our Genre-series continues with this brew highlighting new PNW hops which impart a candied citrus fruit combined with light tropics. Soft chewy malt lays down a solid bass (yes we intended that spelling).

Cloudy orange. Nice-looking, white head. Malt, mango, melon, and a hint of pine in the aroma. Moderate, although still very noticeable, hoppy bitterness.

Pours an opaque straw color with a half finger of head. The nose has some tropical citrus notes. The flavor profile has both citrus and pine notes. The finish is dry but a bit too sharp to be completely enjoyable.

There is a date on the bottom of the can but it is stretched at the edge of the can lip and is illegible.

Appearance: The body is the color of a manilla envelope; partially beige and dull orange. The body is completely opaque. The head is large, thick, frothy, and slightly off-white in color. It has excellent head retention and leave nice fluffy lacing in the glass.

Aroma: There is a nice aroma of tangerine, orange slices, and a light bit of crushed pineapple.

Taste: It has an interesting dusty chocolate-like flavor mixed with paprika and a bit of bay leaf. Towards the back of the palate the flavor gets a lot better and it has hop bine oil character mixed with a bit of pine. The aftertaste is pine. It's an odd tasting beer, but the finish and aftertaste are the best parts of the flavor.

Mouthfeel: It's smooth with a mild bitterness and a mild bit of hop burn.

Overall: It's an alright hazy IPA. The flavor profiles are pretty strange but it's an interesting beer to drink. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a different flavor profile in an IPA, but want something similar to a New England IPA in presentation. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it was an interesting beer worth trying.
