An interesting one. Clear, golden color. Maple syrup, fruits, lactose, wood, and malt are in the aroma. Sour-sweet taste with notes of maple syrup at the end.

i wanted to love this, maple syrup in a wood aged sour, a mezcal element, i mean come on right? but the beer is kind of whack, diabetic in terms of sugars in it, and not as cohesive as it could be, i had a hard time finishing my glass, like it doesnt make sense for this to be boozy, sour, sweet, and flavored all at the same time, its kitchen sinky, even the maple seems kind of artificial with everything else going on, and its a cool idea that just doesnt pan out, not because its poorly executed in any way, i mean this is objectively good, it just doesnt taste very good. citrus and maple are weird together, the acidity is weird too, clean as it is, and the oak heavies up an already heavy beer. light smoke to this is compatible with the maple, but it needs to be drier. there is a lot happening here and it takes me awhile to settle in, i keep sipping tentatively waiting to come around on it but i never do. one element needs to go away, be it alcohol heat, pucker, residual sugar, i dont care, but it doesnt jive with all of it. maple is first, sour is second, wood is third, then the rest of it. neat concept i suppose, but its over the top for me and in the novelty beer range. a shame for these guys, they usually always hit for me...
